Plain Tea

I'm always happy to be included in Sandi's Tea Time, even though my posts are so simple and plain. Sometimes, I feel like Sarah, Plain and Tall, except I'm rather short and plump. Yet it gives me such pleasure to visit as many pretty blogs as I can before the next week comes around.
Last week was such a busy one with conferences scheduled after school during two evenings. It makes a very tiring day to be at school twelve hours and by Friday we are all exhausted--even my younger colleagues (we could all masquerade as tired teachers for Halloween)! Our school district has allowed us to have compensatory time on these Fridays and I am thankful I can relax with a late breakfast and enjoy several cups of tea.
A friend gifted me with this unusual tea pot this past February for my birthday and my aunt sent us a set of birdie mugs and plates one Christmas. I thought this mountain blue bird would look nice with the last of my delphiniums. No more until next spring. :-(

A quote by C.S. Lewis is one I've seen many times and describes my three day weekend:

You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.

Plain or fancy, enjoy your tea time and reflect on the gifts from God that make each November a time of gratitude. Peace and grace to you! ♥♫

Marilyn,
I may have to begin drinking tea! Here in the south we have our ice cold sweet tea :) I collect teapots and teacups. I need some tips on what type of tea to purchase!
You make me tired just reading your post!
Bless You,
Donna

Hi Marilyn,
Your tea post is lovely! I enjoyed the story, "Sarah, Plain and Tall." It made for a very nice movie in comparison to many that are being made now.
I'm glad you got a bit of a rest on Friday. Sounds like you really needed it. Thank you for sharing and for joining me for tea today. I always enjoy your company.

Blessings,
Sandi

Although I'm originally English, I'll pass on the tea. But a long book is wonderful!

That is a lovely teapot - such an unusual shape and color. The tea mug is very pretty and so is the delphinium.

Dear M...

Your comment on my bloggie today made me stop and think how precious life is and how we better all start enjoying the good things around us while we can. In a flash they are gone!

Now...love the teapot! SWEET SHAPE!

Hi Marilyn :)
Glad you liked my fabric..I still have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I'm thinking! :) I may do some chair covers of my own...I don't like my table and chairs anymore, but I hate to get rid of them...we've had it since the birth of our first son...hard to separate yourself from that kind of stuff. Anyway, I thought I might make some chair covers to change it up a bit. I actually have my eye on a table and chairs on Ebay that's only about 45 minutes from us...I might get it just for the chairs and keep my old ones in the garage for when my son leaves. Oh well..we'll see!
I'm sure I'll figure out something to use my fabric on!
Hope you have a great day and I LOVE your teapot and mug...you're making me want a cup of tea!
Hugs!

Hi Marilyn! Mike says that the high school is putting on their play for the elementary grades on Thursday a.m. this week. If you go, would you please be my ears and tell me how my kid does on the piano. You know - once a mother, always a mother. Of course, I've heard him play for years and years, but haven't heard much recently. Would love to come hear, but 42-year olds frown on their mothers showing up for things like that!!! Enjoy your week. Sally
