Today's Flowers

I've been working outside a lot this week. Here's our state flower-the columbine. It comes in many colors, but it's the blue and white one that is official. My dad and I took a day trip to Steamboat Springs one summer and saw many glorious patches of them blooming on the way over Rabbit Ears Pass. I've never seen anything like it again.
One of my favorite iris color combinations.
This whole area will need to be torn out and started over because of all the grass that's gotten in the flower bed the last two years.
The new rose bush with the blossoms opened and waiting for a permanent home.
The star of the week is a bulb that comes up and blooms after the daffodils, tulips, and grape hyacinths. The white flowers close up at night and open again the next day. I must have planted them once upon a time, but don't remember what the name is.
Next week will be a long one as I must earn credits for renewal of my license. At this time of budget cuts for schools in Colorado, I am fortunate that my district helps to cover the class tuition as part of my professional development! We have the best superintendent! Thank you Steve! ♥♫

I love your comment on my post "history and glue is what makes it special. So right! "It" being just about life ... Lovely post ... I love your flowers. All of my beds have weeds, grass, stuff ... oh. And it's just sooooo hot here today! I was outside and it's muggy and hot ... only able to work in gardens and beds so much in Texas heat ... so seems we never "get there". My mom does...hmmm. Must be a motivation thing? Hope the license renewal goes well ... take care. Jenn

Howdy from Kansas! Blessings to you concerning your employment.

Your flowers are beautiful, so lovely.

Marilyn, When my Redbud Tree seeds are ready to harvest, I'd be honored to mail you some for an attempt to grow a tree for your yard.

I've never tried growing one from a seed, so I can't tell you how to do this, but the internet probably could.

God bless,
d
