When I went to my mom's yesterday, her garden was full of columbines. Aquilegia (Columbine; from Latin columba "dove")
She has pure white ones.
Our state flower, blue and white.
Some with yellow and lavender.
And this last one has the colors that I remember from years ago. It used to be the only variety we had on the north side of the house and was there when my grandma moved to town.
Today's Flowers is a great site to visit and I'm linking there so you will be able to visit around the world.
I am also going to try another link today. The Tablescaper, from Long Island, New York, is having Summer Sundays and nothing says summer to me except flowers and being able to spend more time at my mom's helping her do things around the yard and house! These flowers were all from yesterday's visit.
Thanks to both blogs for a day to enjoy God's great beauty in my world. May His love, peace, and grace be with you during the coming week.

Just gorgeous! Columbines are so delicate and ballet-dancer-like. I didn't realize they came in so many different color combinations.
Thanks so much for coming and being a party!
Your Mom has such an outstanding collection of Columbine. I love all of the variation of color. It's an amazing flower that has so many different shapes incorporated in it's blossoms.
Hope you'll join us again next week!

Gorgeous Columbines, I did not know they came in so many colors.
Very pretty columbines. Great minds: I posted a wild variety.
I have a pretty double columbine that is almost black. They are all so pretty.

Your Mum's columbines are marvelous and so are your photos. I have a friend who has them in her garden and I think I will ask her if I could take my camera along one day. Thanks for sharing these beautiful flowers with us at Today's Flowers. Have a great week.
I connected with you from the Tablescaper. I agree, flowers are one of the most wonderful creations in this wonderful earth. My husband loves columbines since he hails from Colorado. We have some. My mother always had some. Isn't it interesting how we love the flowers our mothers had! Thanks for sharing.
I found your site on accident while trying to identify a couple of flowers - How beautiful your pictures are!
I'm a flower essence therapist and manufacturer so I also have a passion for flowers. Some of your pictures have inspired me to search out some new favorites. I've never seen columbines in that beautiful peachy coral color before. I just wanted to say I really love your site.
