The staff had a lovely party for several of us that will say farewell to our careers this May. We were honored with flowers, the golden apple, and a buffet of sweets after school!
This picture is not the best because I was having major issues loading pictures to the blog. They just would NOT load, so I haven't posted for a while. This was annoying to me and as my time was taken with cleaning and sorting in my classroom, I didn't want to frustrate myself. Posting from my phone doesn't quite look the same and I need to see how things fit on a larger screen.
A friend gave me this clock that will be on my mantle. A nice sentiment, as one always hears of the retiree receiving a watch or other timepiece. And, it is something that I secretly did want.
Someone recently asked me if I was at all sad as my career comes to a close. I responded with a no. During the previous school year I prayed about the decision to retire and God's answer was always the same. He will reveal the rest of Plan C when the time comes! And in the meantime, I have a large yard needing attention, a basement that hasn't been cleaned in several years, and painting I need to finish in the kitchen. On top of that is a living room and bedroom full of things to sort through from school.
Thank you to Sarah and Alex, and my other "daughter" Sarah Jo for making my day a great one!

Congratulations! I know you will enjoy retirement, as you are going into it with the right attitude -- looking forward to what might come!!! Take care. Sally
You're in the home stretch now for sure! Love you Mom
Congratulations, and enjoy your retirement! I don't want to think how far away I am from retirement, if ever.
I will be counting down the days with you! I'm sure you had a good Mother's Day.
Hugs,
Donna
You aren't sad because you are still going to come and visit! I have another idea that I think you might like to partake in! Thanks again for everything you did to get my life as a teacher started!
P.S The other night I went to the middle school concert and one of those students everytime he was asked who his favorite teacher was, he always without hesitation said, "Mrs. Ewing!"
I'm thrilled for you my friend. I truly am. A new, fun world awaits you.
Plan C...I'm on Plan F (I think!).
Love you~Rebecca
CONGRATULATIONS! The first year I spent doing projects I had wanted to do the last 10 years. Then after the first year the fun really started! One thing that will be foreign to you that you must keep in mind, is that if you don't get it done today...There is tomorrow and tomorrow and the next day! Wishing you many many tomorrows, next days, and years to come!
Carol
You are very blessed and now a brand new journey in this place we call life awaits you. Do what you enjoy and have a beautiful life. Hugs Anne
