Pay It Forward

It's always a good thing for us to stop in at Michael's when we make the 40 plus mile trek to "town". Lucky for us there were some bargains when we went last weekend.
After seeing pretty ribbons added to spiral notebooks SOMEWHERE(?) last week, I had to try it out. Sarah and I decided we liked the pink one better with the wider ribbons. I tied the pink ones with regular double knots and liked them better than the loops on the green and purple one.
I finished the green and purple one before Sarah went back to Denver and she is using it for wedding notes. (happy sigh!) ;D

Now for PAY IT FORWARD-

"The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking that a good turn be repaid by having it done to others instead." from Wikipedia

When visiting a Colorado blog, French Laundry, I read about this idea going on in the Land of Blog. It sounds like a lot of fun, and I must be crazy to want to be doing this, but it does sound very easy to participate because you don't have to send anything out today or tomorrow, but you MUST send something. And since it is something handmade, you know this takes some time to do. Please note: I am a teacher (very little free time) and a slow worker, so the wait time may be a little longer. So if you are wanting a speedy pay it forward, you may want to visit someone else.

The first 5 people who comment on this post will receive a gift handmade by me, Marilyn. In return, you must write a blog post explaining Pay It Forward 2011 and send your first five commenters a gift handmade by you. I am hoping there will be five people wanting to join the fun.

"It's not the size of the item that matters, but the spirit of paying it forward."

I'll have to use the wider ribbon to redo my notebook. The thinner ones have already starting coming off!

Great idea, however don't count me in the five....I'm not as good as you in creating stuff. But thank you for sharing all of your great ideas! I love to see them!

This is a lovely idea, Marilyn! I live in Canada so I am sorry I am not able to participate. Shipping costs are horrendous! Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a beautiful day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi sweet lady...

Ohhh...I love how you decorated these pretty journals! I have seen them at Michaels...I believe? How very sweet...to embellish them with the pretty ribbon! That's a great idea! I do like the pretty purple ribbon, but I think I agree with you...the wider ribbon is the prettiest! I'm going to have to give this craft a try. A quick and easy project and they would make great gifts!

Well dear friend, I love the idea of "paying it forward"! I always try to live my life this way! Have fun with your "pay it forward" blog party! You're such a dearheart!!!

Just wanted to stop by to say hello! Seen your sweet note over at Sally's blog. I bet you're getting anxious for spring break, aren't you? Wow...it really won't be much longer and the school year will be finished!

Happy spring wishes, sweet friend!

Hi Marilyn...

Just wanted to pop over to say hello! So glad that you came by for a visit, my friend! I bet you are glad that CSAP's are behind you! Hmmm...now I don't remember if they ran more than one week or not! I'm so sorry to hear that you are feeling so weary! I'm praying that the Lord strengthens and refreshes you, sweet friend! Do take care and get some rest this weekend!

Happy spring wishes...

Hey marilyn! :) Thanks for commenting on my Sweet Pea...and I do exactly what you said you'd do,...I hold her and hold her and hold her! :) She is such a squishy face and I love her so much! :)
I like the pay it forward idea, wish I had time to participate, but it looks like you have plenty of takers before me! LOL I like your notebooks too! Michales is only about 18 miles from me, but when I go, I stock up! :)
Have a great day!
