Wee Teacup

The teacup is only about one inch tall and the saucer is 2 1/4 " across! On the bottom it says it was made in England and Foley bone china. I can remember having this in my bedroom when we moved to our house when I was in third grade--so it must be at least 50 years old!
It is one of my dearest treasures that I have because I'm pretty sure it was from my maternal grandmother. Most of the treasures from this side of my family are handmade quilts, afghans, and crocheted pieces.
Memories of things my grandma and I did together are treasures to me, too. One time
she and I made German grebble for my college social studies class! We'd go shopping for her groceries, have dinners of chicken noodle soup and butterballs. She was a wonderful, kind and loving person. She showed her true love everyday, just like in this Psalm.

Psalm 42:8 (King James Version)

8Yet the LORD will command his loving kindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

Hi Marilyn,
I love your sweet little teacup! It is the cutest thing; a tiny treasure! I have such wonderful memories of my maternal grandmother too. She and I were very close. I still miss her to this day!
I appreciate you sharing a favourite Psalm too. Thank you for joining me for Tea Time. My post will be going up around mid-night and I have added your link to it. Have a lovely day tomorrow.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi Marilyn! Well, aside from the fact that this little teacup and saucer are so sweet and adorable... Isn't it amazing the loving memories that something so tiny can hold?!... Loved the beautiful Bible verse too! ~tina

Hi. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a note about our litte pup. Today, I found myself thinking, I need to check on him. He hadn't even been with us a month, just a few days shy of it. I love your egg treasures. In my freshman year in high school my English teacher had an Armenian egg, I forget what they called it - it was hundreds of years old and painstakingly coated and hand-decorated. It was beautiful. You have some great treasures here yourself. And, the teacup - how adorable is that. I like that you showed us it's size by comparing to a life-size teacup. Was it a mini or toy teacup set? I always wanted one when I was little Enjoy your heirlooms. Aren't you glad your brother didn't want them!! :) Jenn
